Chartz Hit The Slopes!

Tuesday 20th March 2018

Merry March to you folks!

Where the ruddy hell has a full third of the year gone, eh? Sorry you haven't heard from us in a while! We've been on a wee adventure.

That's right, your favourite Hampshire wedding band swapped the rustic barn for the outdoor apres-bar and went all international for the winter.

As you may have been able to tell from our social media, we have spent the last 5 weeks being lucky enough to gig right around the gorgeous French Alps!

We were based in Les Allues, near Meribel. A beautiful spot nestled in The Three Valleys - the largest ski area in the world!

We performed a grand total of 26 gigs from the 29th January to the 28th February as part of a super fun roster (a fleet, if you will) of 'Apres Ski Bands'. It's been incredibly fun, exhausting and exhiliarting in equal measure. A totally different experience to anything else that we'd ever done before.

Doing that many gigs in such a short amount of time taught us to push ourselves physically and mentally, and ultimately we have come home feeling really proud of what we have achieved.

Our lovely van took a bit of a beating, and ultimately we are having to put her to rest. We may be setting up a GoFundMe to help fix it- keep an eye out!
Along the way, we also had two more vehicle break-downs, some equipment breakages, an arm injury, some horrendous skiing attempts, a lost voice, and a killer snowy flu that swept through our boys, but ultimately, we didn't have to cancel a SINGLE GIG!!!

The crowds were insane and all up for a party and we learnt so much whilst we were out there!

We flew home from Geneva to Gatwick on the 1st March, which was the day that the UK went in to snowy chaos and everything was cancelled or heavily delayed, meaning even after making it out of France, we were now stuck on home turf haha! Ours was luckily the only evening flight that was allowed to land in London, and we even managed to catch a few different remaining trains that crawled in to our hometown around 3am!!
Basically, what we are trying to say is that if we are booked for your wedding, then BY HECK, we shall be there and deliver our best no matter what circumstances are thrown our way haha! We are really looking forward to playing more of your beautiful events . (Also looking forward to maybe not playing outside in the snow in -16c haha!)

We'll be back before you know it with a packed summer schedule of gigs, providing unique wedding entertainment for happy couples across the country. We're hoping it'll be a touch warmer than our last few!

Much Love,

Chartz xx
