Merry Christmas to you all, and to all, a good night!
Friday 23rd December 2016
It's been a great year for us, and we are looking back over a lovely array of weddings where we have been the Hampshire wedding band and indeed, had a very good night! In this post, we are going to give you some helpful pointers from the four of us as to why winter wonderland weddings are maybe the answer to your perfect day.
Not to knock the amazing summer we've had, but we are deep in the realm of, and deeply in love with, winter weddings at the moment, and we just wanted to explain some of the aspects that we think make them great. Think all successful weddings only thrive in summer? Think again! You may look past the most magical time of the year. Here's what we love about celebrating in the winter:
1. The atmosphere is festive, uplifting and unique. Holiday season is upon us and all of your guests will indeed be merry and bright. Family just means more at Christmas, doesn't it?
2. The weather doesn't need to be hot and sunny for your special day to feel warm and sparkly. Think of luscious, frosty mornings by the fire with hot chocolate and snuggles. Seems perfect, right? Your wedding can capture that 'Hygge' moment (look it up if you've never heard of the term - it's great) of comfort and cosiness, and everybody will thank you for it. Guests will also know to dress up warmly, and there will be no dampening of spirits even if the weather expertly delivers English rain (we are actually quite fond of it really, aren't we?). No pressure - no sun, no stress.
3. Winter, or late autumn, is gorgeous for photography and fashion, so you can have some truly beautiful, unique pictures to look back on. Think regal faux fur wraps, snow, fairy lights, romantic mist, red leaves, sparkling rain drops looking like stars. Not to mention the super-flattering, natural silver lighting from outside! No squinty eyes or sweaty embraces here, folks. We also don't want the hum of handheld fans to outdo the conversation over dinner! Chilly over sweltering any day.
4. The venues are decorated, and possibly cheaper, in festive winter months. Win-win. More fairy lights? Yes please. Log fire? Why not. Mistletoe?? Oh gosh, indeed. Mulled wine?!? Of course!
So now that you've decided you're going ahead with a romantic winter wedding... we hope to see you in 2017!! Here's a selection of a few of our favourite snaps from this year...
HAPPY NEW YEAR FOLKS!
